Welcome to On-Line Home of Balance Feng Shui, LLC.

As Feng Shui grows in popularity in the western world, there has been a proliferation of information published about the subject. Because one is Asian or has published many books on Feng Shui, does not make them an authority on the subject, or a Master. I can tell you that having learned under the teachings of a world-reknown Feng Shui master, I come to understand what is not authentic Feng Shui, and how to tell fact from fiction. I learned from experience. Unfortunately, this is not something the average westerner can not learn by picking up and reading a book. Many books have been written on the subject, and few are accurate. And if someone wants you to believe in Feng Shui Cars, Feng Shui Clothes, Feng Shui Crystals, Feng Shui gardens, Feng Shui jewelry and so forth, I will break it to you gently...these are the results of marketing gimmicks and misunderstandings. What they are not is Feng Shui. You can not Feng Shui your kitchen cabinets despite the claims. You can declutter your cabinets, and organize them most efficiently, but it is still not Feng Shui. You can intuitively feel comfortable in a space, but that is not Feng Shui. So, what really is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui (pronounced fung shway) translated literally, it means wind and water. Wind disperses qi (energy, pronouced chee) and water carries qi. How it carries on your property, and interacts with your home, inside and out, and the impact it has on the occupants is how you should view Feng Shui. It is the ancient science and art of living in a harmonious environment to receive the greatest benefits of life: health, love and prosperity. As a science, Feng Shui is practiced through observation, repeatable calculations and methodologies. Feng Shui studies the environment both inside and out. The art of Feng Shui is the ability of a practitioner or master to properly assess and correct the imbalances. The science of Feng Shui is learning how it works, and how to perfom an analysis of home consistently. The art is gained through much practice so one can fine tune the skills and learn how to apply theory to the art of living.

The fact is we live in a universe filled with different energies that impact our environment. The natural rotation of our planet consists of cycles of days and nights. As the earth revolves around the Sun in these yearly cycles, it is subject to gravitational and magnetic fields. For example, did you know that the magnetic difference between Maine and Alaska varies about 26 Compass degrees from true North, and it fluctuates over time? Physical forces and time cycles affect us profoundly. Traditional Feng Shui is based on centuries of observation of the effects of these forces on people and the environment, and is used to harmonize humans with their environment. This is the science behind Feng Shui. It's not magical, and it is not a belief system. It is based on scientific principles that everything is energy, and the environment and people are impacted by universal changes that occur on a daily basis. What makes it non-science it most "westerners" minds is that it is not viewed in the same reference of other sciences. But, if you were to learn Traditional Feng Shui at its most complex levels of time and space theories, then compared them to theories in Quantum Physics regarding time and space, you would be suprised by the parallels.

What are the theories used in Feng Shui?

Yin and Yang theories are part of Feng Shui. Yin and Yang is similar to western theories in opposite attractions. (For every action there is an opposite reaction.) Traditional Feng Shui uses the natural Five Elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Water and Metal for creating balance. These elements are looked at in terms of its interaction with each other as being productive, reductive, or dominative. For example: Wood produces fire, fire produces earth, earth produces metal, metal produces water, and water produces wood. Another theory is the eight trigrams, which consist of three lines (single and or broken line) and have been shown to be similar to binary code patterns. The eight trigrams were discovered or developed, as early as 2737 BC. The trigrams consist of polarities, elements and compass directions. The trigrams are used in determining supportive energies with the home and the occupant. The trigrams are also used in the time and space is theory in Feng Shui, which is applied to understand how energy is distributed throughout the home.

Why should someone consider a Feng Shui consultation?

Feng Shui theorizes that we are profoundly impacted by the energy in our environment. This energy can create obstacles in our life. Analyzing one's environment helps us understand if there is a parallel between the Feng Shui of the property and what is currently happening in one's life. If there are parallels, then Feng Shui is used to bring balance back to the problem areas and help improve the situation.

Feng Shui helps people select:

  • The best home to live in
  • The best colors and accessories to enhance the home
  • Supportive sleeping directions and furniture placement
  • Corrections to improve your health, relationships and prosperity

Feng Shui will not make you a millionaire. Despite the great claims of abundance by many authors, if it is not in one's destiny it will not happen. Abundance that results in wealth to one person, may result in getting a small raise to another person, or removing additional debt to another person. The goal of Feng Shui, is to improve the current situation overall, whether it is related to health, wealth, relationships, careers, etc. The outcome is always dependent on an accurate analysis and recommendations, the client deploying the recommendations, and one's personal destiny relative to the situation.
